Fascinating stuff! I find Hemingway such an unappealing character (though admittedly that's partly from exasperation at what taking his brilliant prose as a model seems to do to some student's writing), that it's great to know that he wasn't blinded, let alone seduced, by the masculinist appeal of fascism ...
